Whatever Happened To Nextel and Sprint Direct Connect?
Many of our customers ask if we still rent Nextel and Sprint Direct connect Push-To-Talk phones. We used to, in fact we were one of Sprint’s largest partners.
What We Used To Say
Sprint® Direct Connect® (formerly know as the Nextel iDEN Network) takes push-to-talk to a new level. You’ll get the great capabilities you’ve come to rely upon from Sprint — including group calling and interoperable one-to-one connection (Group Connect is not interoperable) — plus a few new and improved features.
The Next Evolution Of Push-To-Talk
The industry and the technology has evolved a lot in the last few years. We used to be excited about 3G coverage. Now 4G and 4G LTE coverage is the norm. The networks are a lot faster and more efficient than they used to be. We have partnered with AT&T and other 4G LTE carriers to access the next evolution of push-to-talk.
